Risk-Based Corrective Action For Tank Sites
(updated 1/1/2010)
Current regulations governing cleanup of UST releases are risk-based and are found on pages 13-24.
There are also state regulations governing cleanup of AST releases.
The Department of Natural Resources published a Guidance Document in 2004 that is to be used with these regulations. Revisions published in 2005 allow use of Tier 1 Risk-Based Target Levels (RBTLs) that are customized for the type of soil found at the site. These soil-type-specific standards are explained here.

Soil Vapor Sampling
Handy tools for consultants include: DNR Guidance on how to collect soil vapor samples, a training seminar presentation with handouts, and an Excel spreadsheet that allows easy calculation of purge volumes.
